The Hen Night
Friday 19th
March 2004
The ladies of Kemer Marina met up for drinks in the
Navigator Bar for Happy Hour as usual. The unusual thing for this Happy Hour was
that there were only women, there in the bar, and 35 odd at that. This was the
start of my Hen Night and I, of course, was not allowed to buy my own drinks.

After Happy Hour finished we all walked up to the Turkiz
Hotel where we were booked into the top floor restaurant for the evening. The
room was decorated with red balloons and tables set out beautifully in a
T-shape, all organised by Jill from S/Y "Carpe Diem" and Jen from S/Y "Sooty
Albatross". The resident pianist
played and a belly dancer performed later. We had an excellent meal with lots of
wine and after an opening speech; I got up and said a few words. Everybody was
relaxed now and thoroughly enjoyed themselves with much singing and dancing.

After
the meal we moved on to one of the local bars where we continued the drinking
and dancing. Thanks to Idriss from the Navigator Bar, we were well looked after
and escorted home safely. A few of the stalwarts finished on Gladlee for a
nightcap, including Mary from S/Y "Aventura", Jill and Jen of course.

Again
many thanks to Jill and Jen for organising this event, a great time was had by
all.
