Monday 22nd July - LH3 and Julie's Birthday

Tuesday 2nd July - Rodon Hotel, Agros

An overnight at the Rodon Hotel. Up to the Madari fire station and a taxing walk down on the trail. Nowhere open for dinner so ended up at the Ambelikos Hotel in Potematissa with Akis and trout dinner.

Tuesday16th July - Dipkarpaz

Trip up to Dipkarpaz staying at Castle Karpasia overnight and dinner at the Oasis as usual. Nice picnic lunch and swim on the way.

Trish's family out in Cyprus to scatter her ashes. We set the hash up in the hills above Alethriko and the aptly named 'Trish's Hill'. Good turnout and On On at Kokkos restaurant.

4th/5th/6th October - Akamas Away Weekend

The 2nd Akamas Hash w/e organised by Paul and Alistair. We stayed at the Tavros Hotel in Neo Chorio with several other Larnaca/Polygon Hashers including Jill, who we gave a lift to. Friday evening we all went down to Latchi harbour for dinner at the Faros restaurant. About 30 of us from the Larnaca, Polygon, Amathus, Nicosia, Marlow and Beirut hashes. The hash on Saturday afternoon started from Smigies picnic site. Julie ran with the longs but they got lost when they inadvertently ended up on the Sunday recovery trail. Still a good trail and covered about 7.5km. The shorts, also good, did about 4km. There was a circle afterwards followed by bbq kebabs brought in from a local restaurant. Many of us retired to the hotel pool bar later. The Sunday recovery run was also a lovely trail and not too long.

11th/12th/13th October - Agios Fotios Camping Weekend

The 17th and 18th annual camping weekend. 3 runners on the Saturday hash and 6 walked the longs. The rest enjoyed the shorter walk. Great circle afterwards with Bill Oddie doing the RA honours. Sunday recovery walk was a bit more than most expected and followed a shorts trail from previous years.

18th October - Ernie's funeral

Unfortunatey John Rasburn died on the 9th October. He will be missed by all. RIP John.

 

8th November - Bonfire Night Dhekelia

The plan was to go to The Buffs for supper and to watch the fireworks but this was cancelled due to over subscribing. A few of us therefore decided to meet by the small church at Dhekelia fishing harbour, taking chairs, food and drink and watched the display from there.

 

 

17th November - Radisson Blu Marathon

Julie, Julia, Bhing, Janice, Ian, Cathy and Joanne ran the 10km race and others walked the 10km and 5km races. And Richard ran the 21km.  The runners managed to avoid the rain but it did lash it down just after they got back and drenched the walkers. Back to Allan's for a beer and then Kafenio to Kantouni restaurant in Troulloi for lamb kleftiko.

This was held at the LeBay Hotel and some of us stayed overnight. Nice walk to the beach bar for a beer beforehand. Great party with Phil and Shirley providing the music.

This was held at the LeBay Hotel as usual. A couple of beers at the Porsche Bar in the afternoon while watching the football.

15th December - LH3 Christmas Fun Run

Annual event with us all dressing up Chistmassy and singing carols around Larnaca. Beer stop at the Fort Bar and Harry's Inn followed by lunch there.

23rd - 29th December - UK

Back to the UK for a few days. Christmas Day and Boxing Day over at Phil and Alison's. All four of their 'kids' and partners were there as well as first Christmas for great nephew, Rupert.

 

31st December - Kalavassos

Picnic lunch at Drapia at the old copper mine ruins.

 

New Year's Eve - Library Hotel, Kalavassos

Checked into the hotel then went for a walk around the village with a beer at the local Taverna. We all met in the Library room for a pre-dinner drink (Jenny, Frank, Fran, Paul, Liz and John) followed by the gala dinner. The food was lovely though a little cold. Retired back to the library for more drinks and 'favourite music' stories. Just before midnight we strolled down to the square to watch fireworks and celebrate the New Year starting. Back to the hotel for cake and fizz from the hotel.

1st January 2025

After breakfast we all (except Ron) set off on one of Jenny's hikes. Nice and warm weather and we did 10 km. Back to ours for food and drinks joined by Mags and Steve. Lovely way to start the year.
